Welcome To Scottsdale

Outside of the Scottsdale golf course home gated communities, private homes and condos are springing up everywhere. There was a building boom in Scottsdale with residences ranging in price from $200,000 to over $10,000,000 due to the influx of people wanting to become a part of Scottsdale's relaxed lifestyle. The job market continues to grow as more and more corporations move into the area.

While easily-accessible,  Phoenix is a hotbed of music, art, theatre and professional sports, Scottsdale is certainly no cultural wasteland. 125 art galleries and museums and a number of performing arts groups are located in Scottsdale proper. Hiking, horseback riding trails and 58 miles of public bike paths provide an outlet for those so inclined, and over 600 restaurants offer a wide variety of cuisine to feast on after a day in the out-of-doors.

Scottsdale is conveniently served by two airports: Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and Scottsdale Municipal. Sky Harbor International has 23 airlines which provide non-stop service from Phoenix to 89 cities in the United States and 17 cities in Canada, Mexico, and Europe. Scottsdale Municipal offers complete services for corporate jets and charters.

"The Scottsdale area is unique when it comes to golf. There are almost 60 public golf courses in close proximity to Scottsdale, some with greens fees as little as $30 a round in the off season. In addition, there are over 40 private golf courses in the area. If you like to play golf, Scottsdale and the surrounding areas can offer a course that will match your golfing ability and your pocketbook."

For those who prefer to live on the course they play, there are over 15 member-only golf communities in Northern Scottsdale, most prominently Desert Mountain with its six Jack Nicklaus signature courses on 8,000 pristine acres. Other renowned private communities with exceptional golf facilities in the immediate area are: Troon North, Troon Country Club, The estancia Club, Desert Highlands, Mirabel Club, Terra Vita, Tonto Verde, and Whisper Rock. Most of these communities require ownership of a lot or home in order to be a member of the golf club.

Wherever one travels around the Phoenix area, growth is staggering and homes remain affordable.  In a recent report from the National Association of Realtors, the Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale area ranked number one on a list of the twelve fastest growing metropolitan areas in the U.S. that are still relatively inexpensive.

Beyond the golf and real estate growth seen in Scottsdale over the past decade, there has also been considerable expansion elsewhere in the immediate vicinity of Phoenix, most notably to the west of the city. Now, experts are predicting that the next wave of development will be flowing east from Phoenix into Pinal County's East Valley region.  Currently, the top golf community there is Superstition Mountain, developed by Lyle Anderson - who also built Desert Mountain in North Scottsdale. The east side of town has two major highways to ease the commute into the city, as well as the Williams Gateway Airport which is now being utilized for charters and private air travel, but capable of handling commercial travel.

With its fantastic climate, cultural options, and world-class golf courses, Scottsdale can confidently claim to be one of the best places in the U.S. to live the golf lifestyle. And as the other areas surrounding Phoenix continue to take off, the options will of course only become more abundant. There is a home and golf course to suit the needs and expectations of just about everyone
